Graduate Student Conference Travel and Research Awards
Black Studies graduate students in their third, fourth, and fifth years of study are eligible to apply for travel and research awards to help defray the costs of attending conferences or research.
Eligible graduate students may apply for the awards up to $300 once per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).
How to Apply
Complete the Conference Travel and Research Award Request Form and have it signed by your advisor and the Black Studies Director of Graduate Studies.
Prior to your scheduled trip or corresponding purchase, submit your signed request form to Vanessa Epps in the Black Studies business office.
How to Request Conference Travel and Research Reimbursements
Please submit your receipts, including transportation or lodging receipts, as soon as you make your purchase or book your accommodations, even if your accommodations are secured months in advance.
It is important that you submit your receipts promptly.
Include the following documentation with your reimbursement request:
(a) A copy of the conference program (if applicable).
(b) A copy of the email inviting you to speak or program with your name (if applicable).
(c) All original receipts
